He returned to India in 1988 and joined the prestigious Escort Heart Institute in Delhi as a Consultant. In 1992, he came to Mumbai and practised at P.D. Hinduja Hospital. In 1998, he joined Lilavati Hospital as an honorary consultant surgeon. In recognition of his 26 years of practice at Lilavati Hospital and his efforts in raising the safety standards to beyond 99% success and consistently maintaining a zero-mortality record, Lilavati Hospital has appointed him as the Head of Cardiovascular Surgery from April 2024.
